Sections are delivered to site by our specialist erection subsidiary, Oregon Contract Management Ltd, and the structural frame is erected. This can take as little as one day, depending on the size of the project. Our highly experienced team consists of a Construction Director, a Group Health and Safety Manager and Contracts Managers. Our excellent site practice has been recognised by our customers and by Housebuilder magazine, with various awards for “Best Subcontractor”.

Once the structure is complete it is signed off and handed over to the client.

In offsite construction the earlier the timber frame company is called into the design process the better. At concept design stage we can advise on structure and layout, value- engineering the design, delivering the best options to our clients. Once an order or letter of intent is received from the client discussions start between Oregon/client design teams and draft layouts and sections are produced.

Client approves Oregon’s design proposals.

Once the designs are approved they are converted into computer-aided designs for the manufacturing process and floor and roof layouts are produced.

Panel drawings and cutting lists are produced.

Offsite production starts with the ordering of materials. Manufacture is swift and accurate, producing engineered timber components which enable speedy and precise build. The scheduling of the manufacturing process in our factories in Selkirk and Burton is controlled by our unique, bespoke, FrameIt software.

While floor slabs and scaffolding, if required, are completed by the client, production of the structural timber frame components in our factory nears completion. All our engineered components are manufactured from sustainably sourced timber and all our manufacturing processes are focused on minimising waste in the factory.

In terms of Health & Safety on site, we have an exemplary record. We start by making buildings simple and safe to build; then we take further risk out of the process by using floor cassettes and building the roof on the slab, all lifted into position by our crane. In addition, we use the best materials, ensuring our frames are always fit for purpose. All of this is closely overseen by our Contracts Managers and Group Health and Safety Manager, who is NEBOSH qualified.
